Outlook 2003 Error in rule

I have a rule in my outlook 2003, forwarding mails with certain words in the
subject, to a network folder - this works fine, except i want outlook to
mark the mails it processes with this rule, as read. Should not be a
problem, i thought.. I ticket the rule option, 'mark it as read' but now i
get error in rules ?

So ticking 'mark it as read' makes my outlook unable to forward the mail to
a network folder - can anyone explain what is wrong ?

What is the exact rule? Do you mean by "forward" "move" instead? Are you
using Exchange? Do you mean by network folder a pst-file, a Windows Explorer
folder or a Public Folder?

The exact rule is: when receiving message - with specific words in the
subject - move it to <folder> - exept if the following words are in the
subject: RE: or FW:

<folder> is at folder on our company network
The above rule works fine. But if i add 'mark it as read' along with the
'move it to ..' part, the rule stops, and i get a error in rule.

We are using exchange.
I am trying to move the specific mails to a public folder (with some access
restiction).

i hope this gives you more to go on - otherwise please don't hesitate to ask
me again -)

This is a limitation; you can only mark as read by rule within the same
delivery location. If you want to do it throughout different delivery
locations you'll have to do that programmatically.
