One of our employees (using Outlook 2003 Enterprise ) complains when he
enables Out of Office
his colleagues using GroupWise at the university where he has an appointment
do not receive his Out of Office
alert when sending him an email message from GroupWise. Anything we can to
enable the Out of Office alert
for messages coming from GroupWise?

Is it just one employee that is having this issue or is it that OOF doesn't
send to all recipients external to your organisation, what version of
Exchange and have you allowed OOF to the Internet in Exchange (off by
default).

And is this Outlook 2003 client a client of an Exchange or Groupwise server?
The reason that I ask is that the out of office assistant is generally
disabled against everything but Exchange.

The second part of this is that default configuration of Microsoft Exchange
is to prohibit out of office notifications from being sent to internet
addresses.

It is an Outlook 2003 client of Exchange server.
Is there any way to get it changed on the server level?
Why is it disabled for internet addresses? Spam issue eg validating email
address?
The doc has a dual position. The university uses GroupWise.
We use Exchange server. Don't remember which version of Exchange server,
though I believe it's a recent version.

First and only time it's come up. OOF works fine within the enterprise.
Problem is OOF going to legitimate GrouipWise clients.
