Outlook 2003 email account password error

Guest

Every time Outlook sends or receives, dialog boxes pop up asking for my
network passwords for my pop and smtp servers. My email is through GMail, but
I don't think gmail is the prob. I can re-input my password for each of my
email accounts in Outlook and click Save password, but it doesn't save it.
When I again open one of my email accounts to "change existing email
accounts," the password is gone.....again. This has been happening for the
last week and I'm frustrated to say the least. Please Help!

How many accounts do you have configured? Are these all using the same POP3
and SMTP server?

There should be a box that below where you enter the password that says
"remember password."

Did you setup Gmail to forwarded all your mail to your POP3 account? I think
you said you did.

I have 3 accounts configured using the same gmail pop server and same smtp.
This has not changed. They were working fine.

Only one connection can exist to the same POP3 server at a time. When you
change your send/receive settings to and configure it to only receive from
one account does it work correctly then?

Yes! I check the box. Then, after "finish" on set up/config, the dialog boxes
still pop up asking for network password. My user name is there but no
password. I input the password, check the remember password box again and
click ok. Outlook then recieves my incoming mail. But the next time I send or
recieve manually or the auto send recieve, I have to go thru the same
process, again.

No, Gmail is not set to forward???? Why would I need to do that?

Thanks for your help.

I just tried deleting all of the accounts and then reconfigured my gmail
account and still no go. I also deleted all of the accounts and then
reconfigured my 1and1 account (as the default and only acct.), which goes
through 1and1 pop and smtp servers. I also have uninstalled my virus and
spyware software. No go.

Could it be some setting that is preventing Outlook from storing my
passwords???
