Outlook 2003 - downloads read emails

D

Dave M.

I've reviewed the suggestions for stopping the download of previously read
emails, but none seems to answer my particular issue.

I have two computers - computer A (Vista + Outlook 2007) and B (XP SP3 +
Outlook 2003) . I'm on A most of the week and it works exactly as it should.
But when I turn to computer B on Saturdays, it downloads all of the week's
messages, including those deleted on computer A.

My ISP is Comcast, and the messages are apparently deleted from Comcast's
server once they're downloaded by computer A.

This is a mystery of the cosmos to me and I'd very much appreciate
assistance resolving this bothersome issue.

Thank you.

You are leaving mail on the server - they are not deleted by computer a when
it downloads them or when you delete them from outlook on computer a.

go to tools, accounts - select the account and choose change, then more
settings. Look on the advanced tab for the leave on server settings.

Bingo, Diane -- thanks very much. The "Leave message on server" box was
indeed checked on computer A. Appreciate very much your fast, spot-on
solution.
