Outlook 2003 Desktop Icon

I installed Outlook 2003 on a Win XP Pro box, and it did
not install the regular desktop icon. I do not want a
shortcut, since you cannot setup email accounts from a
shortcut icon. I could not find anything in the knowledge
base. Thanks for your help.

please try this
START | RUN | REGEDIT | OK
go to the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Deskto
p\NameSpace
Create a new KEY with the name {00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
(please use copy and paste) Exit the Registry

Although this Knowledge Base Article is for OL2002, it worked for me for
OL2003:

I did however use the Office\11.0 key in the regsitry for OL2003:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Setup
