Outlook 2003 Deleting Multiple Emails

I used to be able to arrange my emails by conversation, then click on the
"header" on a group of emails and select delete. it would delete all the
emails under that header. that functionality no longer works...does anyone
know how to get it back?
 
What doesn't work? The right click menu popping up or when you select Delete
it doesn't work?
 
When i right click on select delete, or select delete from the toolbar or hit
the delete key - none actually delete the emails. nothing happens.
 
When you right click on the header does the Delete option show? When you
select Mark all as read/unread from the same context menu does that function
successfully mark all the items in that group as read/unread?
 
Yes, the delete option shows. When I click on the header, right click and
select read or unread - it does correctly mark all the emails under the
header.
 
I havent received any replies since last week. Should I take that to mean
that I've stumped everyone?
