Outlook 2003 Default Incoming E-Mail Address Format Issue

My company is running Exchange Server 2003 as our Enterprise mail system,
and we are using Outlook 2003 as our typical mail client. I have noticed
that when receiving external mail (from the Internet), the messages are
often listed as being addressed as from a nickname rather than a valid
e-mail domain.

For example, hypothetical user "John Smith" from company XYZ may use the
nickname "Johnny". Typically, when this occurs, the following information
can be found in the message header.

From: "Johnny" <[email protected]>

Question - is there any way to force Outlook 2003 to use only the actual
e-mail address ([email protected]) in the "From" address rather than the
nickname "Johnny"?

That is the choice of the sender, not your Outlook. You can right click and
look up the sender in your Contacts.

I understand what you are saying, but this situation most often occurs when
I'm dealing with someone who is not currently in my address book.

The point is this - I am using Auto Formatting to color code all messages
received from given vendors (such as @xyz.com), but this does not work
correctly when a nickname is used because the nickname ("Johnny" in this
case) replaces the actual e-mail address ([email protected]).

I'm just trying to see if Outlook has a function to ignore the "nickname" in
favor of the actual name...
