Outlook 2003 data entry error solution for Contacts

I am using Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP (SP2) Media Center Edition computer
and when I try to enter data for a new contact in the new contacts window I
experience the following:
If I ONLY enter the contact's name and e-mail address and click on Save and
Close the entry is included in the contacts list as well as the address book.
However, if I try to enter ANY additional information like phone numbers,
addresses, etc. related to the new contact, and click on Save and Close, I
receive an error message that an unexpected error has occurred and the
Outlook will have to close.
1. I have run Detect and Repair from the MS Office CD.
2. I have reinstalled MS Office 2003 from the reinstall feature on the CD.
3. I have used the Scanpst.exe repair tool.

None of these solutions has had any effect in correcting the problem.

Any suggestions as to resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated.

What steps produced this problem?
Have you created a new profile?

The computer was infected with spyware and possibly a virus. I ran SpyBot,
AdAware, and AVG 8.0 to clean the computer.

I do not know what creating a new profile means so I don't know how to do
it. Could you give m some advice on this?
