Outlook 2003 Copy/Paste Issue

D

Doug Hart

I am having a strange problem with outlook 2003 SP1. The copy & paste
has stopped working. I can open a new message, copy some text (ctrl+c
or right click then copy) from another message and then paste into
that new email it will work fine. But if I copy some text, open a new
email and then try to paste into the new email it pasts nothing into
the email or into any other application.

I have tried to uninstall office 2003 and then reinstall a complete
copy and am still getting the same issue.

This was also happening in Windows XP SP1 a few months back. I
upgraded to a new hard drive with a fresh install of all Office 2003
pro and MS apps along with XP SP2. This was working fine for a few
weeks and now it has just stopped working again.

Has anyone seen this behavior before or know or a fix to try?

Thanks,
-Doug

G'Day Doug,

You don't say so, but I am guessing that you use Word as your
e-mail editor.

There are a number of Word AddIns that clear the Windows
clipboard as they are loaded by Word.

Anything you copy BEFORE Word starts is lost, anything copied
afterwards will paste ok.

The same thing applies if you try to copy something from (say) the
Internet, then start Word and try to Paste - don't work.

Start Word first, then copy and paste all you like.

Nope opening word and then trying to cut and paste without opening a
new message first still does not work.

In Outlook the option for "Compose in the message format:" Plain Text
is selected and there are no checkboxes selected for the Use MS office
Word 2003 to Edit
e-mail messages or Read Rich Text e-mail messages.

any other ideas?

Thanks,
-Doug
