Copy paste contact

Using Windows XP and Office 2007

I have a distribution list in my Outlook Contacts that I want to copy and
paste into a Word Document. The Outlook window shows me the name and email
address of everyone in the distribution list, and I want to have that
information in a hard copy.

The only thing I have been able to do so far is take a screen print in
Outlook and paste it into Word. Is there some way to copy and paste the
group information so that I can edit it in Word for a different purpose??

And as long as I'm asking, is there any way to copy that distribution list
off one computer and paste it into the Outlook Contacts of another
computer?

Save the DL as a txt file first. Then you can copy and paste to your heart's
content.
You can send DL's to other Outlook users by attaching it as an Outlook Item
to a message.

Thanks so much. Worked perfectly to save it as a text file and paste it
into Word.

What DIDN'T seem to work was sending it as an Outlook item to another user.
She received the email with the attachment. When she double clicked the
attachment, the Outlook distribution list opened up. She then clicked SAVE
AND CLOSE but the DL is not in her contacts list. Did we miss a step???

Probably. Make sure you _attached_ it as Outlook Item, not a file. Make sure
you did not use Forward. Make sure you're not scanning outbound email for
viruses. For more foolproof results, set message format to RTF. Open and
Save will place it in the _default_ Contacts Folder. Drag and drop works
too.

Okay, I think I see my problem, but don't know how to fix it.

I saved the distribution list as a text file. This is the one that pasted
perfectly into Word and I'm fine with that.

This is also the file I attached to my outgoing email hoping the recipient
could add it to her Outlook contact list. But you are saying I should NOT
attach the text file that I created. You said I should attach an Outlook
Item. Don't see that option anywhere.

Sorry to be so bumfuzzled by this, but I guess I need step by step
instructions.

Every new message Window has an option to Attach a File or an Item. Use the
latter. I'm sure you can find it. It's huge. Right on the Ribbon.

Thanks. I see the "Attach an Item" button. I assume that my email
recipient will be able to open the distribution list I am sending her and
then will be able to do a "save and close" to have this DL become part of
her contacts list.

I also discovered that I can open the distribution list in my Contacts and
select to SEND IN OUTLOOK FORMAT to a mail recipient. That seems to work
the same as clicking SEND ITEM from the new mail window.

Thanks so much for your help. I think I'm good now!!
