Outlook 2003 contacts phone dialer

my outlook phone dialer don't work. I can hear the modem dialing, it connects
properly the external phone ,rings but there is no sound (voice) to be heard
or send.
anyone has an idea what to do?

Why do you say it doesn't work? That's what the windows dialer does. It
dials the number. It does not operate a voice modem.

Thanks for the info, yet it does not solve the problem. The question was how
to make this phone dialer work (as a voice phone, like the icon of course).
When you check with the help function is says it works as a voice
phone....... mine does not!

I don't believe the Windows dialer can handle voice modems. The voice
modems that I've purchased have come with software that handles the voice
aspect, but I've never been able to integrate that into Outlook.

No Help file I've ever seen says that, and it is untrue. The Windows Phone
dialer is just that. It dials the number then the call is handed off to
whatever receiver you have plugged into your modem's outboard port.

Even though being a beginner I am happy if I can help a pro. Just press F1
and check under "about dialling from Outlook" and after that " Redial a phone
number".
There it says you can use your modem to make phone calls. and that weas all
i wanted to do, so far no solution. Smartlink Softrmodem is installed....

Notice that it says nothing about supporting voice modems, which it does
not. It can only place calls.
