A user running outloook 2003 on windows XP has a problem where if he double
clicks on an email it will freeze then a message will appear saying
"Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close". This
also happens when he replys to emails etc.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, detect and repair also replaced the
msmapi32.dll with older version as requested to on another site but still the
same problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the problem still happens, i have also logged into the machine and used
outlook and it also crashes on my account. It seems to be a common problem
but i cant find a fix for it. Any other ideas?

More information regarding this i have checked the event viewer and the
details are: Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.8169.0, stamp

debug? 0, fault address 0x000387a6. Please if you have any ideas let me know.

Hi

I ma having exactly the same problem. We are running Office 2003 on XP
client (with Exchange 2003).

Only 2 users are experiencing this issue. If they open, or try to reply to
an HTML email, Outlook crashes. If we change it to read in plain text , it's
fine.

We have tried detect & repair, running in safe mode, recreating their
profile, unistalling Office and reinstalling, but nothing seems to make any
difference.

If anyone has a solution to this frustraing problem, I would be overjoyed to
hear it!

Japes
