Outlook 2003 Beta - problems with sending eMail

recently I had problems sending eMails via Outlook 2k3
Beta. about every other eMail is "stuck" in the outbox.
the icon changes from the closed "ready to be sent"
envelope to the 'open envelope' without any error message
and opening the msg and clicking on 'send' again doesn't
help.

when I choose "send&recieve" Outlook always displays
sending "3 of 3" even if there is only one message in
the outbox.

has anyone here similar experiences?
