Hi all,

I can see and search all non archived posts and I can see
archived posts, but I cannot search through the
archive.pst all I get is a message saying it is in use,
close any application that is using it and try again.
Well there is nothing attempting to use it apart from
Outlook.

This has occured only during the last few days. any ideas?

If you close Outlook and reboot, does it work then?

Thanks for the reply Milly,

Gosh you've been there for years and years :-) No, it
doesn't. Furthermore after a reboot as outlook loads a
message pops up about outlook not being closed properly
and it rechecks the archive pst file, having checked
outlooks continues to load and act normally except no
search method is available in any of the archived folders.

The problem is still there, anybody have other ideas on this?

Have you run the Inbox Repair Tool on your PST files?
