Question 1.
I shuttle between South Africa and the UK (3 Months at a time so there's
lots of e-mails.) and because I do not want to carry my notebook computer
each time with me I bought a second notebook which I leave in South Africa
and synchronised this with my UK notebook. All I do is carry my data on a
portable hard drive and just restore the latest data to whichever note book.

The problem is after synchronizing the computers the second one attempts to
download all the old emails again that is on the first one but I've already
copied them over.

Can you please assist because I do not want to download thousands of e-mails
each time I copy the data from my portable hard drive and then have to delete
the duplications?

Question 2. Until recently all my e-mails that come in from my BT internet
account inbox are move to my Outlook 2003 inbox which is fine. But now some
just stay in the BT inbox and don't get moved to Outlook. Further, I get a
window saying "new mail has arrived do you want to read it." If I open it and
read it then this e-mail doesn’t appear in my Outlook inbox but stays in the
BT inbox. All was well until recently.

Many thanks for your help

Problem one - mark the email to delete from the server after x days. After all, you have it on one or the other notebook.

Problem two - talk to BT Internet. Sounds like an internal problem to their webmail.
