Outlook 2003 and Windows CE synchronisation

P

PJ

I've just upgraded to Outlook 2003, and am still using my
old Windows CE pocket PC (HP Jornada). I've noticed that
periodically outlook now pops up to tell me that
a "program" is trying to access my outlook address book
and should I allow this.

This is slightly annoying. Can anyone tell me if I've
configured something wrong? Or if there is an answer to
this? Or perhaps it's just me?

TIA

I think it might, but I'm not too sure (not technical
enough to fully understand what I need to do with it). The
articles don't specifically mention Outlook 2003, and I
don't recall ever having the problem with Outlook 2000,
but perhaps it's in there somewhere.

It certainly appears I'm fairly unique as nobody has
written a utility or patch or something to fix my problem.
oh well.

Thanks for the help.

You were probably using Outlook 2000 with either no service packs applied or
SP1 only. The new security features were introduced in Office 2000 SP2.

The problem is likely with the sync software you're using. Is it an older
version? You might check and see if there's a newer one that has been
updated to get around the Automation Security prompts.
