Is it possible to drag and drop a contact from the "address book" into a
folder created within "my contacts"?

I don't think it is, but a colleague is convinced he used to be able to do so.

The "address book" in Outlook doesn't contain anything. All your contacts are
in the Contacts folders. If you want to move a contact from one folder to
another, open the source contacts folder and drag the contact to the
destination folder or use Edit>Move to Folder.
