Outlook 2003 adding attendees with no email addresas to meeting

Outlook 2003 can do pretty good stuff when it comes to integrating the
various PIM functions. However, I have a problem. I have set up a
calendar to plan training events for employees and sub-contractors.
Each employee and sub-contractor has a Contact card, but not all of
them have email (my business is the construction industry). When I try
to add attendees to a training meeting, I can only add those that have
email addresses. If I type in one of these names, check names does not
resolve it.

Is this a bug? Is it a configuration issue? Can anyone offer
suggestions on how to sort this matter out?

To use the calendar function to invite someone to a meeting, it sends the
invite via email. If one of the attendees does not have an email address,
you cannot send the invite. A workaround would be to invite them via a
telephone call and include this information in the meeting notes area.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

Assuming they know they are invited and it's for your reference only (or for
others in your office), add a fake email address to their contact - maybe
formatted as no-email@your_domain.com. Otherwise, use milly's suggestion of
adding the names to the notes field.

Thanks

Workarounds are good. I shall use the fake email method.

In the meantime, Happy 2006!!
