outlook 2002/word 2002

I want to do a mail merge in word using a new list of contacts. Is there a
way to a separate list of contact specific to this mail merge either in
Outlook or Word?
 
I'm confused, there is no mail merge in outlook under tools. Am I
misunderstanding something?
