I just got DSL service with SBCGLOBAL.net (aka: YAHOO).
I was told that it would work well with Outlook 2002, but
that didn't turn out to be true. I've spent hours on the
phone with their technical support people and we can't
figue it out. We've set up all of the correct pop & smtc
settings, and still doesn't work.

I can only send email and can't receive any mail. My
Outlook Express seems to work with my SBCGLOBAL account.
I just can't figure it out.

Does anyone have any susggestions???

Thank you,

Have you set your outgoing server to authenticate using the incoming server
credentails?

I have set my outgoing server to authenticate using the incoming server credentials, and still nothing. I've done everything that is posted on the Microsoft website and SBC website. I think I've tried all the different settings with no luck. Thanks for your initial response.

Do you get any errors?

I don't get any errors at all. Now when I run "test account settings", I don't get any errors there, either. If I didn't mention already, I'm running Win XP Pro. There was actually one day when Outlook was able to receive emails, but that only lasted for a few minutes. I have no idea what cause Outlook to work correctly for those few minutes, but at least I know now that it's capable of working properly. I can only send emails, just not receive any.

Thank you for your reply

Well, I use SBC Yahoo! Mail with an sbcglobal.net address on Windows XP Pro
using Outlook 97 on one machine and Outlook 2002 on another and they work
just fine, with one exception: Outlook 97 can't send mail because it can't
authenticate to the outbound server. Outlook 98 is needed for that.
Otherwise, it works exactly like Outlook Express does, also in use on both
of those machines. If I were in your shoes, I'd create a new profile and
recreate the account from scratch. Other than that, I have no suggestions.
Sorry.

Okay, not the best news. But I'll try it. Thanks for the help. If that works, I'll be sure to post it here. Thanks

IT WORKS!!! I finally figured it out. In order to see your incoming mail in Outlook, you have to click on the "Send/Receive" button on the tool bar. And in order to refresh and check for new incoming mail, you have to click on the button again. I hope this helps
