Receiving mail in outlook happens when you click on the outlook window but
not before. What is causing the delayed mail arrival?

If running against an Exchange mailbox, it sounds like your desktop isn't
receving UDP packets from the Exchange server. Do you have a personal
firewall installed and on? (e.g. Windows XP (SP2) turns the built-in
firewall on by default. This will interfere with Outlook in being able to
receive the UDP packet. An exception has to be defined for Outlook.exe or
one has to set a registry key to force Outlook to poll the server.)

Yes, we are running the SP2 fire wall and no one here has this problem but
this one PC. I did put outlook in the firewall exceptions and closed outlook
and reopen it but it still will not receive messages until you click
somewhere in the outlook window.

Yes, the regedit did help now it takes 15-30 seconds for the mail to show up
by itself. This seems to be about the normal time for the rest of the PC’s on
the system. Thanks for it helpful info.
