I have outlook 2002 running on vista. I had few accounts initiated on it. But
before those could be activated on start of it gave message “A program is
trying to access e-mail address you have stored in outlook. Do you want to
allow this? If this is unexpected it may be virus & you should choose “Noâ€.

I reviewed the discussion groups & thought service pack 1,2 &3 should fix
the problem. But I feel that these service packs are not on down load menu.

Can any one help me.. It has given many sleepless nights so far.

Thanks

Kumar

Firstly, Outlook 2002 is not supported on Vista. That might be part of your
problem. Read here for possible issues:
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/vista.htm

If the above isn't the cause of this problem then you'll need to check what
is. Something is trying to access your address book. It could be a virus, an
add-in or some third party utility.
Scan for viruses, disable add-ins then, if the problem stopped, add them
back one at a time to determine which one is causing the problem. Check on
what 3rd party programs you have installed that might be trying to send
email.

This more than likely isn't a "bug" but a security measure or an
incompatibility.

Thanks Bill,
I had run AV programme PC-cllien. It didn't detect it.
I read somewhere that it was security problem on outlook 02. Microsoft had
launched service pack 2 & 3 for this. I couldn't down load it.
Secondly, if I uninstall outlook 02 & install 03, how should I save mails to
be seen later in 03.
