OUTLOOK 2002 SP3 Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error Winword UGH!

Hi there! I had a networked external hard drive crash and take down
my router at the same time. As I was re-building everything and
finding a new home for 500G of files, I developed an issue with my
Outlook. I do not believe they are related but who knows.

When I open Outlook or try to reply/create a new email, I receive an
error:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program Files
\microsoft office\office10\winword.exe

If Outlook is open, I get the same error when I open MS Word. If I
open MS Word in safe mode, I can use Outlook. I can open MS Word
normally if Outlook is not open. If I open MS Word and then Outlook,
all is well.

I email in html and use word as the editor as regulated by Outlook. I
do not wish to change this method.

Help!

Sounds like you have a Word or Outlook addin installed which is incompatible
when Outlook is using Word as the email editor.
Start with disabling your addins in both Word and Outlook and see if error
goes away. Then enable your addins one by one to find the culprit.

It's a good thing to troubleshoot Word first then. Most likely it will solve
your Outlook issues as well.
It's better to continue troubleshooting in a Word newsgroup.

I put just through one up. I went through the Macros Support Template
in Word deleting add ins, renaming the normal.dot, etc. No fix as of
yet. Very strange!!

No COM Addins in Word either?
See the bottom section of this post on how to check for those;http://www.msoutlook.info/question/210
