Outlook 2002 Send/Receive yields the operation fails. How to fix?

....it's been working OK for a year. When I log into Outlook 2002 and click
Send/Receive, or click Send after creating an email, I get
The Operation Fails.

How do I fix this? Reinstall? I'm using 2002 SP3. Will I need to install
all the updates, too?
Please help.

Hi,
most of the time, a new profile resolve the problem, so please try to create
a new profile!
