Operation Failed

Periodically when I start Outlook 2002 it does not work. When I click the
send/receive I get the message "The operation failed." That's all it says. I
have reinstalled Outlook before. Now when I try to reinstall the program
crashes. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

How about running Microsoft Update to ensure the latest patches and service

I got setup to work. Why does outlook keep failing and giving me the

Aloha Hal,

What operating system are you using and how much RAM do you have? General:
Have you run scandisk on your hard drive to eliminate the possibility of
error there? How much free disk space do you have?

When you reinstalled Outlook did you uninstall it first?

Thanks for the thoughts. I've run scandisk. What does that do and how does
that relate to Outlook? What does "operation failed" men? Note that that is
all the message says: "the operation failed."
