Operation Failed Outlook 2002

I have been using Outlook 2002 for years. Recently though when I hit the send/receive button I get the error "operation failed". I also get this error when I try to edit my email accounts. I select tools/options/mail setup/ but when I select email accounts I get the error. Can Anyone help?
Thks, Cam.

Do you have a virus scanner installed which integrates itself with Outlook?
Uninstall this integration part of your virus scanner and try again; you'd
still be sufficiently protected by your on-access scanner part of the virus
scanner. For more details see;

Other possibilities are needing to recreate your mail profile or to reset
your send/receive settings. See the following site for more info;

Problem solved. I went to control panel/additional options/mail. Some how my profile selection had been changed. I switched it back to Outlook and I'm receiving email again. Mystery is how it was changed in the first place. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

Are you saying you had more than one mail profile? If you don't need the
other, delete it.
