Outlook 2002: Messages Send but Stay in Outbox Anyway?

Hi all, XP Pro system with Outlook 2002 SP2. Completely clean install of
everything. Using POP/SMTP account, no Exchange Server. Messages send
immediately (as per setting to "Send Messages Immediately When Connected")
but stick in Outbox. When I click open a message, there is no "Send" button
(it's already been sent) so the info shows when it was sent. But still they
remain in Outbox.

Any thoughts? Thanks for a reply.

I had problem today with same XP Pro w-Outlook 2002 SP2

Sent e-mail with attachments and it kept sending the e-
mail over and over (recipient received it more than 21
times!), but it was still in my outbox. I have now
installed Service Pack 3 at Microsoft website and hope it
will correct the problem because one of the error codes I
received was 0x8004210B and installing Service Pack 3 is
supposed to correct that one.

I am also getting an 0x800CCC6F error code but can't find
anything on it at the Microsoft website.

Well, I ended up creating a new PST file and importing the contents of the
old one...seemed to do the trick. Not sure what kind of corruption there
was - I had run the Inbox repair tool but it only half-fixed the problem.
