Outlook 2002 laptop no users in a group

I have a user who has outlook 2002 sp3 on his laptop. When he writes an
e-mail offline to an individual user, everything works great, he gets back on
the network and the e-mail goes out.
When he writes an e-mail to a group offline, he puts the laptop back on line
and the group shows no users. It goes out to no one.
Anytime he uses a group, there is no group membership. If he sends to a
user, it always works

What's a "group" in your parlance? Outlook has no contruct with that name.

Sorry it is a Distribution group in AD.
When he clicks on to the group shows up but it is empty.
