Outlook 2002 can't find POP3 server

I have done everything to try and make this thing work. I have a Win2k box
running Office XP. I can connect to the Internet, connect to the MS Exchange
server, I have applied all updates for software and OS, yet the Outlook 2002
program gets to 50% and then gives the error message that it can't find the
incoming and outgoing POP3 server. I have checked and rechecked the server
names, deleted the account and re-entered the info and still no luck. Anyone
with a suggestion, please feel free. Thanks
 
Exact same problem. There is also an article in the
Microsoft knowledge base about something pretty darn
similar, but didn't help at all. I'm still stumped.
