Outlook 2000 won't start after OS upgrade

I just upgraded from WIN 98 to WIN 2K Pro. Applied all
upgrades from Windows Update for both WIN 2K and Office 2K.
Now Outlook won't start. Error message is:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Program: (Path to Outlook)

This application requested the Runtime to terminate it in
an unusual way. Please contact the application's support
team for more information.

When the dialog is dismissed, Outlook terminates with no
further messages.

Any ideas?
