Outlook 2000 Track Changes

Hello all:

Is there a way to have Outlook/Word 2000 track changes to an e-mail by
placing the name of the editor at the point of editing? I have tried to go
into the Track Changes->Highlight Changes... dialog but the "track changes
while editing" option is dimmed.

Thanks,

Track changes is a feature of Word. It cannot be used with e-mails even when
using Word as your editor(as you have found out).

The key reason for this is that there is no way to control the e-mail
program that recipients will use. Although your e-mail gets composed with
Word as the editor, the e-mail that gets sent out is in normal e-mail format
(and not Word format).

Depending on the nature of your communication ... you could attach a Word
document to your e-mail in which people make comments etc. The attachment
can have the ability to track changes.
