Outlook 2000 - the view is damaged

Oliver

Hi, on some folders when I click onto it, it gives me "The view is damaged.
Default view settings will be used". I tried "outlook /cleanviews" but this
doesn't resolve this. I am using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2000.

Also, we have problem with one of our user mailbox where the Out of office
will not work. When going to Out of office Assistant, it says "You AutoReply
message could not be displayed. The client operation failed." click OK and
the normal out of office Assistant dialogue box appears but anything I put
in, it doesn't save, if I clikc OK, it says "Changes to the rule could not be
saved. There is not enough memory or the rules are too complex. Try
deleting some rules". which I checked, but there are no rules to be deleted
and I cannot find out how to check the memory - even when I logged on to
terminal server, it gives me the same problem message.

Some suggestion include update to Service Pack 3 to XP but this doesn't work
either. Would appreciate any guidance!

Thanks

Oliver

Hi Oliver,
I was just receiving the same message today. I went to View, Customize
Current View and I cleared all of the customized settings such as filters and
sorting. The message went away. Hopefully this will work for you.

A quick way to do this is to open Outlook with the cleanviews switch:

Start > Run > outlook.exe /cleanviews
