Hello .. I posted this in another Outlook newsgroup which may be the wrong
newsgroup for this question, so hope its ok to post it here .....

I am doing a mass mailing from Excel (a macro)
to Outlook, sending different files to around 200 recipients. The only
problem I have is that Outlook requests a confirmation for each file and
each confirmation takes 20 secs or so.

I tried changing the security to low, but that didn't work. Is there any
way to bypass this request from Outlook .. basically it states that another
process is sending mail through Outlook and requests a confirmation yes or
no.

Any help would be much appreciated.

From Our good friends at www.slipstick.com we find the following:

The "object model guard" feature of the patch imposes two
extreme restrictions on automating Outlook from add-ins
that use CDO:

a.. If an add-in tries to send an Outlook message, the user gets
a notification pop-up and must explicitly authorize or deny
each attempt to send. The user must wait 5 seconds before
the Yes button becomes available to click.

b.. If an add-in tries to access either a Contacts folder or the
address book or save an Outlook item as a file, the user
gets a notification pop-up and can deny access, authorize
a one-time access or extend access for a period of
several minutes.

Quite honestly I have not dealt with this problem in a long time.
Many moons ago, I would have suggested the use of a little
program called: Express Click Yes. This is a freeware utility
that sits in the background and clicks yes for you.

The OP should keep in mind, however, that Express ClickYes introduces a
vulnerability into Outlook that the Object Model Guard closed with the
confirmation message: namely that if your PC becomes compromised by malware
that sends mail, you'll never know it because ClickYes will mask it. It's
better to get http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/security/ .

Many thanks Nikki ..will check clickyes out .. have to wait until Monday as
the job is run from my computer at work.

Appreciate your reply Brian ... was thinking that I would only load the
"clickyes" pgm when I did the mass mailing (once per month) .. but will look
into the link you supplied, and then its up to my boss, if he wishes to
purchase it .. I'm with you its better not to take the risk.

Many thanks!
