outlook 2000 .pst file too large-won't open-how do I reduce size?

Hi- I was recently storing emails in my personal folder when I got an error
message. After investigating, it appears that my .pst folder is over-sized
(currently 2.118GB). Now that I know that the limit is 2 GB, how do I fix
this? Can't open any of my personal folders, so how do I re-open these
folders and remove content so that I can access them again? And, how can I
split these folders in the future so that I can save more emails? I know,
newer Outlook offers 20GB storage, but my corp. office isn't ready to
upgrade. Please help! Thanks-

Kernel for PST Compress & Compact tool flawlessly removes all attachments from new as well as old PST files and saves them to new/existing files, removes attachments and save them to separate folders or compress all attachments in new PST file as and when required. The tool can be tried free of cost by downloading its trial version. The utility is compatible with Microsoft Outlook 2002, 2003 and 2007 and is easy to download from http://www.compactpst.com/
