Outlook 2000 PST file over 2GB

A client has extensively used Outlook in a standalone
mode for several years. He uses it for everything and the
PST file had gotten VERY large. He was just under the 2
GB limit and then suddenly went away for three weeks on a
personal emergency. The large number of undone tasks that
then popped up on his return pushed his file size over
2GB and his current Outlook 2000 won't open it. What can
we do?

I have a WinServer 2003 trial w/Exchange 2003 Beta which
I can install. I am not experienced in either WinServer
or Exchange (just starting to learn WinServer and NO
experience with Exchange). I would guess this would be
a "simple" import into Exchange 2003 (which I've never
done), have him logon and compress the file or delete
enough stuff or export it or something to get the size
below 2GB so he can use it again.

Looking forward to some expert help!

Thanks, in advance!
