Outlook 2000 problem restoring pst

Having had a total mechanical/electrical failure on an XP machine, I have
tried restoring the users saved pst file. It restores most of the file and
then comes up with the report that some of the files have been moved deleted,
etc. and stops the restore. All the essential information has been restored
at this point, but Outlook refuses to run. Is there anyway that a partial
restore can be carried out? Or is it possible to open the pst and delete the
portions that are not required.

HI KalamityKJ,
try to open the pst file via (open outlook) file > open > datafile and point
to the restored pst file!
