Outlook 2000 on Vista Business

Configuration Scenario

1) A new laptop with Vista Business installed.
2) Under User Account / Manage User Password, I've assigned a *.domainname
so that when I map a network drive within the same domain, it will use the
stored username and password to access resource. This works in XP without
any issue.

Problem
1) When I manually assign a map drive, the credential prompt for username
and password comes up. Why does this come up even though I have done (2) as
above.
2) Also, when opening Outlook 2000, a credential prompt comes up and after
typing the username, domain and password, it lets me through and I can see
the email. However, in XP, this credential prompt never comes up.

Is there a fix for this?

OL2k is not fully compatible with Vista

Thanks, but how do you explain the Stored username and password credential -
which you would this expect to work when you manually assign a network
drive - should a credential prompt appear? In XP, as long as I do a
*.domainname within the same domain, then it will work but not for Vista. Do
I have to do something?

Outlook 2000 has compatibility issues with Vista, one of which is the
password/credentials issue, which cannot be fixed.

shares, but its probably due to security changes within vista.

Outlook 2000 is not supported on vista. The password problem is probably
because vista does not use the protected storage system xp used.
