I am having an issue with several people on our network
where the inbox does not automatically refresh with new e-
mail. The user has to select another folder or do
anything else in outlook and the mail will appear.

We are using exchange server and this issue occurs on both
Windows 2000 and Windows XP machines.

Has anyone else seen this issue or know how to fix it?

This is one of the symptoms of the non-delivery of UDP packets. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;kbhowto&sd=GN&ln=EN-US&FR=0
and enter Outlook as the product and UDP as the search string. You'll get
several articles that can help you diagnose the problem.
