Outlook 2000 is working however when we close it we receive an error message
which states Outlook.exe has generated error messages and will be closed by
windows. You will need to restart the program.
Any ideas on correcting the error message?

Hi Dobber,
When you close Outlook, have you checked the task manager to see if it's
still running in the processes? Do you have any Add Ins, COMs, synchronizing
software (Palm, etc.) running that would create any issues with Outlook?
Also, you might want to check your application event viewer to see if there
are any indications there of Outlook errors. An error number would be very
helpful.

Hi K. Orland,
Thanks but I guess I should of been a liitle more detail.
I did already try turning off all of the add ins and coms.
I also looked at the event viewer and that is really strange because even
thou windows said it was creating an error there was no report of the error
in the event viewer.
Would you have any other ideas?
I also have tried to repair outlook by reinstalling however that hasn't
worked as well.

Thanks for your response.
Yes I am using a PST and it is quite large it is I had backed it up previous
before reinstalling and I had noticed when it was backed up it is 568MB.
Do you think that could be the problem?
Thanks

Outlook 2000 does have a PST size limit but it's 2.0 GB. You wouldn't expect
to start seeing any issues until it's around 1.5 GB or so (maybe a little
less). You may want to run a ScanPST.exe though against it, there may be
errors contained within it.
Do a search for ScanPST.exe and then just doubleclick it and run it
following the default instructions, and point it to your PST file. Make sure
Outlook is closed when you do this. Post back and let me know what happens.

Hi Kathleen,
Thanks for all your help.
Just to let you know I have just corrected it.
I was configuring msconfig and had stumbled upon it.
It ended up being a new toolbar that was downloaded from MSN that was
conflicting with Outlook. It was indexing the email and attachments. It was
also Desktop search.
I ended up uninstalling the toolbar and low and behold I am not getting the
error anymore.
Thanks Again.
