Outlook 2000 Duplicating Messages

My lone XP client is duplicating messages by the hundreds.
I have:
Run Scanpst for inbox corruption
checked server-some messages too old to be found on server
reset mail index file on server (for POPlast command)

Cannot figure this one out. Don't want to de/re Outlook if
I don't have to-may not even solve the problem.

What's going on?
 
I'm no expert, but I was having a simmilar problem, I
checked my Rules Wizard for duplicate/simmilar rules and
found I had two rules setup to perform the same task, and
was getting duplicate emails.
