Outlook 2000 Can't open inbox or public folders

P

Penny McGrew

I set up a new user on an existing Win2k workstation last
week. When I clicked the Outlook 2000 icon under the new
user's ID, the installation window came up for Outlook as
though Outlook was not on that computer, even though it
shows under the previous user's ID.

I installed Outlook again under the new user's ID. I
finally got it to open to personal folders but there is no
inbox. When I right-click on the Outlook Today or Public
Folders, I get the message "This set of folders cannot be
opened. You do not have permission to open the folder."

What is wrong? How do I get this fixed so my new user can
go to work.

Thanks for your help.

Check the user's profile to make sure the Exchange Server service is pointed at the mailbox that the user has credentials for.
