Outlook 2000 config issues

I was having problems burning CDs, so I reformatted my HDD. Before
re-formatting & re-installing, I copied all of my files / folders / programs
to DVDs.

After installing Office 2000 & obtaining all of the updates, I copied
outlook.pst file from the DVD to C:\docs & set\user\local set\app
data\microsoft\outlook.

Now, in my folders bar, I have "personal folders" and "outlook today".
"personal folders" contains my folders, calendar, tasks, etc. All of my new
messages are going to "inbox" of "outlook today".

1. How do I get rid of the the "personal folders"? I'm open to alternative
plans.

2. I copied the messages & folders from "personal folders\inbox" to "outlook
today\inbox". Now the messages open in "preview pane" mode, even though I
have turned off preview pane for "inbox". It wasn't like this before I
re-formatted.

3. Before I re-formatted, an envelope would appear in my system tray,
notifying me of the arrival of a new message. How do I restore that option?

I have read help > microsoft outlook help" regarding the above problems, &
searched the internet, but I have been unable to find the answers. Clearly,
my search string does not include the correct terms.

Thanks for your help.

Didn;t you ask this same question in another group? One very much like it
was posted in the past day or two and it has been answered.
