I have a user who suddenly stopped receiving email for the past couple
days. As a test, I tried changing her email password and it still
didn't work. So I tried deleting the mail server account settings and
setting her back up from scratch. Long story short... I ended up
trying to delete the mail account and set it back up with a different
server name (another name for the same server) and when I did a "send
and receive" I noticed it was back to using the "old" server account
settings.

Nothing I can do seems to change that account. I need to remove it
completely. Any suggestions?

System is Windows XP Pro and Office Outlook 2000.

FYI, I have another user with the same exact problem, so it's not a
one-off case.

I think your Outlook profile is corrupt, you'll have to create a new profile.
Ahh... And how would one do that? I thought that might be the problem,
but I couldn't recall how to create a new profile in Outlook.

By the way, we are not in "Corporate / Workgroup" mode... Internet
only as we do not have an Exchange server (yet.)

The only way to create a new mail profile when using Internet Mail Only mode
is to edit the registry. If you're willing to do that, the method can be
explained. You could also switch to Corporate/Workgroup mode. That mode
will still allow POP accounts. It won't allow IMAP accounts, however.
