Logged in this morning, received all new messages. Then, 30minutes later,
get error message that outlook cannot access my folders. Re-started outlook,
could access all folders, but nothing was there. My inbox, sent, even trash
boxes are completely empty. How can I retrieve my messages.

New mail is coming in fine now, but I've got to have the old messages.

Thanks

You didn't mention if you are working with a Microsoft Exchange or POP3/IMAP
account, but if it is the later, the search* the drive for *.PST files. You
also might want to verify that your antivirus software didn't do something
nasty like delete/quarantine the PST file. Once you find it, you can run
the Inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) against them and then open via File >
Open > Outlook Data file (or Personal Folders).

* Since you didn't mention what operating system you are using, I will warn
you that Windows Explorer doesn't look in hidden/system folders. Make sure
you configure Windows Explorer (and the search routine if using Windows XP)
to look in hidden/system folders.
