Outlook 200 hangs when attempting to close.

We have a user on an XP Pro with Office 2000 whose
Outlook hangs when she attempts to log off. It would
appear as though this has occurred after someone who is
using Office 2003 accessed her mailbox. There is now a
junk email folder in her outlook folders which I am
informed is an indication that the mailbox was accessed
from a 2003 outlook. To close outlook the task manager
has to be used.
Has anyone experienced this problem or heard of it and
can give us some clues as to what to look for next in an
attempt to resolve the problem.
Thank you.

1. Do you mean logging off from the local computer, from
the network, or something else?

2. How did someone access "her mailbox"? Is Outlook used
for a corporate email account on an intranet or an
internet - based email account?

3. How did someone access "her mailbox" "using Office
2003"?

4. Do you have all of the critical Outlook 2000 updates
installed?

There was an update for this for which you'll need to contact Microsoft
Product Support. Saidly I can't find the KB article anymore. Product Support
should be able to help you. Note that patches are delivered free of charge.

Sorry, I forgot to add;
It's a known issue that Outlook 2000 doesn't close correctly when it is
configured with an Exchange mailbox that has been connected to Outlook 2003
