Outllook 2007 keeps showing "Enter Network Password"

M

Mike

Hi all,
I have Vista Home Premium and Outlook 2007. I am trying to setup my work's
Pop3 email in Outlook. It worked fine, untill about last week. It keeps
showing me the "Enter Network Password" dialogue and I click Ok, and it shows
it again and again. It doesnt stop, it keeps poping up. I cannot check my
email and this is really annoying.
I tried deleteting/re- creating the profile and email acoount. Also,
uninstalled Norton. But nothing seems to help.
Please, please , please someone help. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

M

Have you run Office Diagnostics? How about scanpst.exe?

Thank you.

Look for it using Windows search - enable searching hidden files/folders.
When you find it, run it against your .pst file until no more errors are
shown.

I ran it, it did not find any errors. I dont know what else to do. This is
crazy, do you think there was a windows update last week that caused to stop
working?
Thank you,

Chuck - I've seen this many times and 80% of the time the ISP is causing the problem. Have you contacted them?

I have been having this same problem for about a month. I am running the
program now to see if it will help.
I had gotten my computer upgraded and when I reloaded everything I began
having this problem.

It ended up being to be an ISP issue. I was accessing my email from multiple
locations, so to make a story short, i had to setup Outlook to use IMAP
instead of POP3.

Thank you everyone for all your help.

I used the scanpst.exe, as well as the Diagnostic tool and then I was
informed I needed to "reinstall" office because it had become corrupted. As
soon as I did that, my problem went away. (I think I heard angels singing!)
Seriously, I was happier at that moment than I had been in a vry look time!
Thanks so much for posting your problem!
