Outllook 2007 Contacting the server for info for html emails

When I open Outlook 2007, if the first email in the queue or the one I click
on has heavy graphics, a dialogue box opens saying...'Contacting the Server
for information'. It is like the email is downloading, then appears a few
seconds later. I believe this just started after I upgraded to IE8 from IE7.
It gets kinda frustrating since I allow html format.

I have the same issue. Running Office 2007/SP2, XP Pro/SP3, Norton 360. The
message "Contacting the server for info for html emails" comes up with a
progressive flashing green bar. It runs for 20 or 30 seconds and blocks all
keystrokes, except the help button which open a help window which really does
not help at all. I just upgraded to IE8 yesterday, and this issue seems more
pronounced. I can't remember if I really had it with IE7. Help !!!!
thanks.

So uninstall IE8 and see if the problem goes away.
