Outllook 2000 on Terminal Server

A

Alison

Has anyone experienced this problem, if so all advise
gratefully received.

I'm running Terminal Server 2000 and when I open Outlook
2000 it hangs and takes a good couple of minutes to open.
When it opens everything runs OK.

I've done a update and all patches etc are up to date.

Thanks
Alison

Check if thers a DNS-Problem with resolving the hostname of the
Exchange-Server-Computer.
If so, edit the HOST-File on the TerminalServer.

Hi Alison,

Do your Outlook Clients have a lot of RULES built into their profiles. If
the INBOX is big for a particular user, the Rules are executed against the
inbox everytime it launches ( I believe )

But on another note, I had a Terminal Server 2003 machine where outlook was
hanging indefinately. The Server had to be restarted once a day! It was
driving me nuts for 3 weeks. After a huge amount of troubleshooting, I
upgraded the site to Outlook 2002 in desperation!

Guess what?!?! The machine is stable now!

Its a no go Alison. You will have to install outlook 2003. I did the same on
on a terminal server 2003 and had huge problems with lockups etc, and not
releasing from memory.

I doubt this - I am running W2k Terminal Service with a complete Office 2k
Installation on it without any problems !
