Outllok "The data file ... was not closed properly"

Why am I getting "The data file Personal Folders [in Outlook, XP] was not
closed properly. This file is being checked for problems" and then it takes
~30 minutes to "check" before I can access Outlook?

When Outlook doesn't close properly, it does a selfcheck the next time you
use it - it's the same as running scanpst.exe manually. The best thing is to
figure out what is causing it to not close properly -
http://www.sunflowerhead.com/software/knockout can help you see if it closed
and http://www.slipstick.com/problems/close.htm for possible causes.
