Outgoing message issue

How do I delete a message that is in the Outbox that Outlook has already
started sending? It is so big it's taking forever (my mistake - too many
pictures). But, when I try to delete it a pop-up message says "outlook has
already started sending this message". I want it gone! I was stupid to
attach so many pictures and should have known better.

In Outlook, File->Work Offline. Close Outlook - check Task Manager to ensure it is completely closed. Wait a few minutes. Open Outlook, move or delete the message from the outbox, uncheck Work Offline.

unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without

Try setting outlook to offline mode (File menu)
Pause, then close OL
Pause, then open OL, see if you can delete it now.
If so reverse the process

Thank you so much. It totally worked. I've never used "off line" before.
I was never quite sure what its purpose was. Thank you again.
